The estimated outstanding government debt is LKR 7,373 Bn as at end
2014, reflecting per capita debt of LKR 357,233. Considering the off
balance sheet items with regards to bebt, the government expects per
capita debt to increase to LKR 427,220. As a result, the total debt to
GDP of 74.4% as at end 2014 is expected to increase to 88.9%.

A debt ridden Economic Growth of 7%. This is after taking out the 20 to 30% commissions. If the total borrowings were invested in development projects without wiping out the commissions economic growth would go up to 10% and better than China,
But if there is no personal gain why invest to boost Country's economy ? - Chintana
