UBC will not drop further , sure it will hit the 35 end of this year . in long term this is the share to invest and also under value share in mkt. Laughing

i personally advice not to invest in short term........ Evil or Very Mad

yes. i also think. since we have been offered a " Bank Facility" from them with very friendly service. personally i know , how bank is growing day by day. they are improving fast . hope more from this year and will aqare well portion of mkt share in sri lanka with competing NDB and COM BANK:lol: Laughing

better to enter with GREG.N @15/= you can buy nearly double share for one UBC and make more and more money in short term.
I didn't say UBC is not good but first make from GREG then buy UBC later. UBC not a short term target

General market reaction is that when a company report negative earnings or drop in earnings the share price will come down. Most recent examples are LIOC and ESL. So it will be as it is in future as well.

In case of UBC , they have got new cash from foreign investor. These cash will be used to expand the operations island-wide. And the results will start to flow with the expansion. Investor has to wait and see for some time. But main thing is that no need to rush . Wait till the price stabilizes and enter to keep not for quick sale.

UBC is one of the fastest growing bank when it comes to new branch openings. They are openings branches all over the island. The branch network is so strong. PABC OR NTB coludnt achieve this kind of branch network so far.at the moment we can expect this kind of down turn trend of profitability as new branch openings may lead administative expenses,marketing expenses to top. All we know that its not easy to make a customer base with in day. New branches have to operation,should win the hearts of customers is a must.each branch have been targeted to serve minium no of customers,selling no of leases,loans per month. Finally every branch prepare a branch profit and loss account monthly. In this scenario most of the branches will not get profit but this will effected consolidated bank P & L. At last we can see profitability of bank drops. Some times we can see the same situation of billions earnings companies too. Those companies will invest new businesses regulary and profit trend can be shown as a down trend. Actually the same period core busineess may grow but overall profitability will show as a down trend because of new business investment. At the time of acquiring a new business will not give much benifi to increasement of consolidated profit in most of the time. I believe UBC will trade 23-25 levels for a while.

How is the management of this bank? Is the management competent enough and capable of improving its core business with the cash in hand? Is there any competent key management personnel who has track records on business turnaround. ?

As much as we talk about the bank, it is important to know more background about the investor TPG. Having worked for them, the firm like every other firm are highly interested in delivering performance and value. If they buy into a firm as US$ 100m they generally sellout at US$ 300+ million (in all instances where their investments were good). The firm does not only provide capital for expansion, they invest heavily in research and process. Not that all their investments turn to gold, but am very bullish about UBC in the long run...
