Globally bank PBV is 3.5 and but in CSE it’s 2.1.

BV =ASSETS-(LIABILITIES+PREF,SHARES) /NO. OF ORDINARY SHARES ISSUED AS AT THE LAST REPORTED FIN.YEAR

PBV= Market Price/BV

Bank and finance companies will come increasing quarterly profits should be traded at much higher values. Some of the shares which demonstrate annual EPS growth are SEYB, SAMP, SMLL and Lfin.

COMB, HNB, DFCC, CFIN, PABC and NTB could also be come out with increasing quarterly results. As evidence by projecting previous result I hope end of March most of the bank can be reach 500/= level while mid cap bank like SeyB, NTB reach 200-300 level.

But please do not buy or sell due to my post, do your home work and decide.

Happy Trading.

As far as DFCC was concerned i am waiting to see their annual report, because upto last year commercial bank results also used to have an impact to their bottom line & and now the investment in commercial bank just an investment, and due to the disposal they obtained some capital gain, i am more interested to find out in what ways they going to use the fund they received from the disposal of comm bank investments

according to NTB Quarterly Financial Report as of 30-09-2010
EPS 3.7
sector PER 20.8
so 3.7x20.8=76.96 should be the market value. now it's on 85! is it overvalue.
pls correct if I'm wrong.

Standard Credit Limited (Former Ceylinco Investment Limited) which is having large lands will be absorbed by the MBSL. That makes huge increase of MBSL asset value.
