Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake agreed to compensate Golden Key depositors on Wednesday, (May 13th).He emphasized that the depositors should withdraw their lawsuits to receive compensation.
Minister Karunanayake stated that if all the court cases are withdrawn they will be able to completely compensate all the due payments. Accordingly depositors with deposits worth Rs. 2 million or less will be compensated in less than a month while depositors with up-to Rs. 10 million rupees will be compensated within two months.
The Minister also promised to pay off depositors who have deposits greater than Rs. 10 Million within a year. Newsfirst
