A person has been shot and killed in the Owakanda area in Ratgama last evening.
Police said that the shooting was carried out by an unidentified individual who had arrived in a car at around 6.35pm yesterday and fled afterwards.
The 28-year-old victim, a resident of Ratgama, was admitted to the Karapitiya Hospital in critical condition, however he had succumbed to injuries shortly afterwards.
No suspects have been arrested so far while Ratgama Police is conducting further investigations

I remember following.
Reminiscent 1: Black july 1983: UNP thugs unleashed terror against innocent tamils all over the country, still not known how many tamils were killed. This was directly done under patronage of JR, Ranil.

Reminiscent 2: Indo Lanka Peace Treaty Blood Bath 1987: UNP junta again unleashed terror on innocent people and media people like Richard de Soysa, Richard had been shot twice in the head and Ranil said it was suicide. Number of dead nearly 25000.

Reminiscent 3: 1988-89 Blood Bath: JR-Premadasa regime unleashed terror on 6,000,000 innocent people and killed nearly 200,000 people, most of the killings were recorded as traffic accidents and no of dead downsized to 60,000. So many young people were sent on tyres, if we had mobiles those days i wonder how internet would be filled with youth burning by the side of road. Remember there were about 60 youths had been killed in Kundasale on tyre pyres.

Reminiscences above never vanish, and bet that a UNP government will kill at least 500,000 youth if elected to power. So get ready guys to get killed if Ranil comes to power
