This UFO is heading towards Sri Lanka and they say we will miss it by a fraction and land off the coast of Sri Lanka .
“It’s a lost piece of space history that’s come back to haunt us,” Jonathan McDowell, an astrophysicist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, told Nature. The origin of the junk is unclear but experts believe that it is the remnants of one of the 1960s Apollo missions .
The object as it is expected to plunge into the Indian Ocean, about 65km off the southern tip of Sri Lanka that's if it doesn't break up completely upon entering the atmosphere.
They say this is the first instance of a piece of space debris being tracked as it returns to Earth. The object was first spotted by astronomers in 2013 but was subsequently lost, until recently.
As per latest calculations, fortunately for us, the object will hit Indian Ocean 65 km South of Hambantota at 11.45 a.m. on Friday 13th November 2015. You may not see the spectacular sky display due to Sunlight.
Beware : 65 km is millimeters in space time... mmmm...
Most probably it may burned out completely before hitting Earth but, Bill Gray, who has been tracking the debris with Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, quipped: "I would not necessarily want to be going fishing directly underneath it" !
