I would like to add one points to the above:

We also should note who are the CEO and MD / Directors of the companies that we invest in.

If the company management are good , then they will definitely have good ethics and integrity.

They will work hard to maintain the price of a stock and pay regular dividends. Also they will avoid frequent rights issues .Company reputation matters for them more than any thing.

For example:

Singer group former chairman Mr Hemaka Amarasekera,
Hemas group chairman , Jkh former Mr Ken Balendra,
Hnb, com bank,Carsons group........

If you check these companies their stock price are stable in good/ bad times because of their strong foundation and policies.

This is my personal views and experience.

But I am not sure about D..... P..... Of sorts.........
