Problem is that JKH came out with a bad report. Everyone knows if JKH comes down it takes CSE down with it also. Hopefully people won't panic with it and see long term positive prospect view of JKH.

“The decline in PBT is mainly attributable to the capital gain of 610 million rupees recorded in the third quarter of the previous financial year. The performance of the Plantation Services sector was negatively impacted as tea prices continued to remain depressed.”

If we exclude above, there is a 5% increase in profits attributable to Shareholders. Their transportation sector has not done well in that quarter. Still they managed to make reasonable profit due to diversification.

The Consumer Foods and Retail industry group PBT grew 86 percent to 1.08 billion rupees in the third quarter over the same period last year.

“Both the Frozen Confectionery and the Beverage businesses recorded encouraging results compared to the corresponding period of the previous financial year
.”

Based on the above information, Sri-Lankan costumer staples sector has more potential and it will have more growth in the coming financial years as well thanks to lower commodity prices, tourism boom and increased disposable income among middle class population.
