A SERIOUS NOTE TO THE YAHAPALANA ADMINISTRATION

Brandix CFO Hasitha Premaratne has stated that irrespective of the global issues we are in a better place ('Daily FT' of today). PM too has shared the same view much earlier stating that we are in a bright spot. So, why aren't we able to take advantage of that position?

The simple answer that i can think of is the Govt should refrain from bringing people from 'HOME FOR GERIATRICS' who have nothing to achieve or look forward to in their life in the future, except to get relief from any illnesses and fading memory etc, instead should appoint dynamic efficient appropriately qualified (may be CFA/MBA) young people for senior positions in the SEC in order to see a vibrant market.

Hope the Yahapalana think tank would agree, after all facts are stubborn. This is not meant to hurt anyone, but only in the best interest of the stock market and to revive the dampened sentiment of the investors.

Being a strong advocate for a change in the regulator i have only this to say:

"CHANGE AND FLOURISH OR HUG THE BEAR AND PERISH".

The Govt should resort to young talent to lead the key institution. This position is not only about playing 'Cowboys and Crooks' but there is lot more an efficient, dynamic person could do. A person with self conscience should pave the way for this.

We all know that Michael Tissera was a great cricketer, but can we now retain him to lead the T20 side?. Food for Thought!

Now its not about 'learn or depart'. BUT "PLEASE DEPART" only.

Sounds like logical. But key thing to remember is that these positions are government ranks so politics will surely play its role.

Under bureaucratic system no place in the country where power/authority intervened & influenced. Over the period every citizen is embodied with this culture allowing only henchmen to hold high ranks.

Unfortunately, we have not seen so for young, qualified & dynamic community climbing ladder to take up future administrative positions. Such structural changes are vital of importance for forward marching.  Sorry to say that time has come to salute over aged people who should rest now.
