My view is that this is a very good move to the market because it gives a signal to market that market movers are not inactive as well as strategic investors have seen the value of Sri Lanka equities. The confidence booster to the market will return from the continuous foreign net inflow as well. Yesterday also we have seen net foreign inflow and now YTD net foreign outflow is a mere Rs200mn which will be turned into net inflow within next couple of days. These new factors will inject the much needed stimulus to the market to move it back to the place where it was @ the beginning of the year.

Dhammika Perera said the acquisition of NHL stake is because he see the future potential of the Healthcare industry in Sri Lanka but not intend to acquire the company. My view is that his final target is way beyond this and he will end up by getting Nawaloka Hospital under his business empire within next couple of years. Why I am saying like that is because he started the same way the acquisition of Lanka Ceramic group some years back. I remember he started the deal by acquiring 20% stake in Lanka Ceramic saying he saw future potential. At that time Lanka Ceramic was under Theatres group and most of the investors thought that DP will be unsuccessful in acquiring the ceramic arm of the family-own empire. The acquisition sparked shock waves within Theatres group and we saw they buying from the market the CERA shares fearing that DP to acquire the company. After that some time lapses and we could see nothing on the acquisition or buying from the market. But later on, I think one or two years time from this incident, we heard the shocking news that Ceylon Theatres group has decided to sell the Ceramic group and the buyer to be DP and connected parties. So later on DP together with his RCL has acquired the controlling stake of CERA. In those days people stressed that DP will not be in a position to acquire CERA as it was a tight family control business.

Now in 2016 DP has acquired 20% stake in a company which is also a tightly family own company. And people are telling that DP can't acquire it for the very same reason. I think that DP surely have a long term strategic plan for this company and within one to two years we will see a change in ownership of this company. So it is better for long term investors to start accumulating NHL from now onwards. Who knows when the time that DP acquires NHL after couple of years it can be reached to 10/- level like ALUF,PARQ,RCL,LB, etc. Don't miss this opportunity.

Thanks

Why you are interesting on this stock? There performances for the past couple of quarters have improved but we need to study the stock further especially how they use the money from rights issue. The price levels are in a suitable range for trading but we must establish the high and low band for this stock before deciding to enter. If the lower band is strong then we have a high degree of confidence that buying @ lower band will at least not lose our money.
But I need to study on this stock further before expressing a deep view on the stock.
Thanks
