It is discussed among market sources that now Acuity Director and Acuity Stock Brokers Board Member Deva Ellepola and a cartel used Sunday Times Editorial to manipulate Anilana Shares and sell it to the market.

Market analysts note that for the first time in history Sunday Times published by Rupert Murdoch of Sri Lanka Ranjith Wijewardene and Editored by Sinha Ranatunge unlike their so called 'Authentic Reports' have published a gossip news in the paper and paper's official website that helped Anilana stock holders to artificially manipulate the share to over Rs.3.50 and sell.

In another development Guardian Acuity Fund Manager has been involved in questioning about 'Oil Orders and Hambanthota Bunkering' orders and Refinery Upgrades from Central Bank Assistant Director and Central Bank officials have informed Regulators that Guardian Acuity is said to be having some large shareholdings in LIOC in which there might be a future manipulative trading in the LIOC shares from Acuity end.

Several analysts also note that Foreign Journalists correspondents in Sri Lanka representing Bloomberg, Reuters and several others have been helping a Guardian Acuity Manager keeping him on Foreign Journalists association and helping him to market shares via Reuters and Bloomberg reports.

Actual Facts about - Anilana Deal - Did Acuity Deva Ellepola made some bucks via Sunday Times News Manipulation?

There were rumors recently within and outside the share market that multi-millionaire businessman Dhammika Perera has bought the Colombo Stock Exchange listed Anilana Hotels and Properties PLC.
Several such news reports too had attracted attention towards this issue. However, up to now there has been no confirmation regarding such a transaction from either party.
Anilana Hotels and Properties PLC is a listed company, which meant it is a public shareholding company. If any sensitive issues arise within such a company, then it has to be revealed to the public immediately. This clearly stated in Appendix 8A of the Stock Exchange regulations related to corporate disclosures.
Appendix 8A states when such disclosures should be made. Appendix 8 states that in the event of a change of ownership in a company, it has to be disclosed as soon as possible.
Below is an excerpt for the Appendix:
Did Acuity Stock Brokers and Deva Ellepola made lots of money from Manipulative News on Anilana News 'Unclarrified' on Sunday Times Anilana-01-Section-85A
Some 50 per cent shares of Anilana Hotels and Properties are held by Asanga Seneviratne, who is the Managing Director. By 31 December 2015, 27 per cent of the total equity was listed under his name, 12 per cent under Investor Access Equities Pvt Ltd where he is the Managing Director and 8.67 per cent under Asia Fort Asset Management Ltd where he is a Director.
Below are the details of the main shareholders of Anilana Hotels and Properties:
Did Acuity Stock Brokers and Deva Ellepola made lots of money from Manipulative News on Anilana News 'Unclarrified' on Sunday Times Anilana-02-20
Accordingly, if any changes to occur in the ownership of Anilana Hotels and Properties, then Asanga Seneviratne has to definitely sell his share ownership. But no such transactions have been made through the stock market during the past month.
Below is a complete report of share transactions of Anilana Hotels and Properties from 01 April to 12 May 2016.
Did Acuity Stock Brokers and Deva Ellepola made lots of money from Manipulative News on Anilana News 'Unclarrified' on Sunday Times Anilana-03
Based on this, there are no evidence of any transactions that could cause a change of ownership in Anilana Hotels and Properties.
As stated here, over 13 million ordinary shares of the company have been transacted on 05 May 2016 at prices ranging from Rs. 3.00 to Rs. 03.70. The date 05 May is when the ‘Dhammika-Anilana’ news reports appeared first on the web media sites.
On inquiry, several stock market analysts confirmed that no transactions that could affect a change of ownership in Anilana Hotels and Properties have been made during the past few days. They pointed out further that the particular media reports could mislead the public.
During the 1st quarter of 2016, Asanga Seneviratne had sold nearly 03 million from his shareholdings. When compared to the total 493,308,514 shares of the company, this is less than 01 per cent. Hence it is clear that this is inadequate to cause an ownership change of the company.
Meanwhile, on 05 May the company’s Executive Director Manjula Viraj Perera had announced that he has resigned from his post with effect from 30 April 2016.
Apart from this, there have been no significant changes reported at Anilana Hotels and Properties PLC during the last six weeks.

Yahapalana there is no political siding...What has to be revealed has to be revealed. By the way I think regulators should investigate Deva's stock trading as well as the stock trading of Guardian Acuity General Manager who is said to be asking details from Central Bank Directors and manipulating info with Foreign Correspondents in Sri Lanka attached to Bloomberg and Reuters.

Those who are capable of seeing loopholes in any system gain hefty without much effort. It is their perception that the legality of transparency & accountability just confined to a piece of paper.
