In shaping a fast track to a turnaround, focus areas driving the future of trade, investment and services will require great planning, execution and synchronisation. In this light, on Day 2 of the Sri Lanka Economic Summit 2018, a session titled “Accelerating Future Outcomes: Trade, Investment & Services” will be organised at the premier annual economic discussion by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
The focus of this session will be on making sound trade and investment reforms effective bearing in mind in global developments and the trade-investment nexus. Strategies to synchronize multiple policy initiatives (FTAs, FDI regulations, National Export Strategy, Trade Facilitation, Trade Remedies) with Sri Lanka’s overall National Trade Policy and Investment Policy, will be debated by top researchers, private sector representatives and economists. Furthermore, they will discuss on whether these initiatives need refining and what more reforms need to be put in place to compliment or enhance the impact of existing reforms. A key national discussion on the development of services through either trade agreements or other measures will be taken up for deliberation in this session as well.
Dr. Rajat Kathuria, Director and Chief Executive of the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations, and Dr. Nihal Pitigala, Consultant, (Lead Economist) USAID, World Bank will be the speakers for this session. Thereafter, joining them in a panel discussion will be Dr. Anush Amerasinghe, MD/CEO of BPPL Holdings; Ms. Nadie Kahatapitiya Algama, Director of Marketing & Strategy at KIK Lanka (Pvt) Ltd; and Ms. Subhashini Abeysinghe, Research Director at Verité Research (Pvt) Ltd.
Dr. Ganeshan Wignaraja, Executive Director (Acting), Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute, will be the moderator for this discussion.
Sri Lanka Economic Summit is the ideal platform for Chairpersons, CEOs, Directors, Senior Managers, Foreign Investors, Senior Government Officials, and Academics, to engage in an expert discussion of the nation’s economy. Registration for the 2-day summit is on a first-come, first-served basis, therefore register early to avoid disappointment. You are contradicting yourself with some of the hard core political related news items which you copy and paste in this forum Ruwan. Also in a previous post I remember you asking one member, which political party he is supporting for.

Below is one such hard core political posting you have shared in this forum with a comment from you(which I have marked in red) which absolutely has no or little relevance to investing/trading and making profits.

Sri Lanka ex-president’s son proposes to sweetheart atop Kilimanjaro

ECONOMYNEXT – Former president Mahinda Rajapaksa’s youngest son Rohitha travelled from Tangalle to Tanzania to propose marriage to his sweetheart on top of snow-covered Kilimanjaro, another sibling said.

Second son Yoshitha was the first to announce the engagement yesterday atop the highly romantic setting on the highest mountain in the African continent.

Even a montessori child knows that a Govt's monetary/Fiscal policies has a direct impact on share market.

Long years back when Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait the CSE reacted negatively.Any one can figure out possible reasons for it. Ruwan would have said hang the Saddam shit and to analyse shares. So, try to understand how events outside the shores of Sri lanka can negatively impact the CSE. Why go so far, the stock market crash in China had an impact on CSE. May be the hopper eating donkeys don't understand this.

Why have you omitted what i stated about the Monetary/Financial policies of the Govt that affects the Stock Market?  Furthermore, Tom & Jerry's Good governance turned out to be Goo governance.
As at today the very same (majority) Corporate sector who were in favour of this Govt are yearning to see a change.

That bomb is nothing compared to Bond Scam 1 &2. The country's economy is struggling owing to this and the people are not willing to forgive the plunderers behind it. Mainly the Chief Architect. Arjun Mahendran is only the arrow. The country knows who the shooter is.
