JINS doesn't hold a single share of BFN. It is Janshakthi Limited and if this deal happens there is no benefit to JINS shareholders

When JINS+Allianz deal was done, it was a top secret until the last few days. It appears negotiations went on for more than 1 year and even perhaps close to 2 years.

There could be some truth about BFN BUT retail investors who speculate on such market rumours could end up loosing money.

Don't gamble on market rumours and always invest with near certainity even if you are speculating or trading

1. JINS won't benefit even if there is a deal on BFN. So don't buy JINS expecting a BFN deal.

2. If you are speculating on BFN do it with almost certainity. Occasionally I too trade BUT ONLY IF if is certain that I am going to make money and not loose my money

My last such trading was with JINS, making substantial profits. I knew exactly what I was doing

For 2 years JINS was trading around Rs. 15-16 and 17 max. Suddenly there was unusual movement in volumes and price appreciation. There was some market info about the impending deal. Then came JINS announcement but with no details of selling price. Following day they announced selling subsidiary for Rs. 16 Billion. I did some basic calculations & I figured out if it is going to be a dividend it would be around Rs. 20/- per share and would probably drive the SHARE price close to Rs. 40/- . But it was going to be a share repurchase. So I was 90% sure the buy back price would be close to Rs. 40/-. Within 1 hr of the announcement I purchased JINS shares for trading @around Rs. 25/-

Later they announced buy back price which was Rs. 36 odd. Immediately afte company repurchased @ Rs. 36 odd I sold the remaining shares above 25/- within the next couple of days.

Therefore if you are trading or speculating do it with near certainity. Just betting money on market info/rumours is nothing but gambling. If it works you make some money and if it doesn't work, you loose substantial money.

Yes Ruwan I will trade only if there is zero or near zero risk as was in the case of JINS actual example. This type of high investment return opportunities with NEAR ZERO RISK don't come easily, but when they do come grab them with both hands.

Let's assume tomorrow BFN is announcing a specified controlling % being sold for a specified amount and let's assume it comes to Rs. 25/- a share. Then @ CSE if BFN is available below 20/- I would buy as much as possible knowing that I can make a super profit with ZERO RISK

Majority of investors believe the rate of return which the investors should aim for is more or less proportionate to the amount of risk he is prepared to take, i.e. higher the risk,  higher the return and lower the risk, lower the return. But Benjamin Graham's view is that, the rate of return on investment is NOT proportionate to the level of risk you take.

The rate of return sought by the investor should and will depend on the amount of intelligent effort the investor is willing to put in to his investment task. He says the maximum return will go to the alert and enterprising investor who puts maximum intelligent effort and skill
