I have recently started using Sampath bank's Online Banking system; and they offers online settlements to few stock brokers... which is really convenient.

Online payments available to :
ACUITY STOCKBROKERS (PVT) LTD - ACUITY HOUSE, NO.53
ASHA PHILLIP SECURITIES LIMITED - LEVEL 4, MILLENNIUM HOUSE, 46/58
CEYLINCO STOCK BROKERS (PVT) LTD - LEVEL 9,CEYLINCO HOUSE,69,
J B SECURITIES (PVT) LTD - 150, ST JOSEPH'S STREET, COL 14

Anyone interested can try it.
Note: Payments made on current date gets updated on the following day to your CDS account balance.

Commercial Bank is also having a good Online Settlement system.

you must registered with combank net facility for use this facility for free, otherwise there will be charged

Hi.
I have COM bank internet banking account as above, and activated my CDS for payments. I had a little problem, I transferred some amount to Test the service, and it has deduced from my account, but It's not update in My CDS statement. Do I have to Call to the broker and get it deposited to the CDS? or is it automatically deposited once the payment executed?

I checked with Capital Trust, they said they don't transfer moeny back directly. But I'm using the Commercial Bank Online System to make my share payments to Capital Trust.

Once you executed the payment it will be credited to the Capital trusts collection account within 30mins time with your CDS account number as the narration.
Capital trust accounts division is to update the amount under your account then and there. But if they have taken longer time to update to the account balance due to practical situations you can call accounts department and get it update or let them have to inform your investment Adviser with regard to the deposit.

according to my knowledge only the JB Securities is doing direct deposits.
all other brokers like to issue you with a Cheque and enjoy a free cash float for two three days. its is not ethical by any means.

Hi Prince,

my broker is Asha Philihs & I have been using combank online facility.
but I couldnt pay my broker throgh combank as Asha philip is not rejistered for such facility.
pls advise

In my case I did an electronic fund transfer with my CDS number to capital trust and had to call 4 or 5 times get it added to my account. They said they didn't get it. I called the bank and even got a statement to prove. It took about 2 weeks after many calls and I got fed up with them and asked to send a check for full amount.

yes, there are few brokers very reluctant to open a collection account with all the major banks. brokers think that is a trouble for them have more than one collection account as they will get more reconciliation work. still in our country brokers are under the impression of controlling their clients at their will , rather to support them at customers convenience.
I know that CSE and SEC is currently in a move to bring in such regulations for a online settlement system.

Its very funny to understand that such a simple thing is not incorporated yet, in a over regulated market like ours.

Since when I pay through a check they credit my account immediately even though cheque realises in 2, 3 days I find it fair that I get a cheque from broker for my sales given that it is posted immediately. Smile

In capital trust they have collection accounts almost all the major banks and normally within 24 hours they update our CDS account from normal cash deposits. That is my experience with capital trust
