Colombo Stock Exchange amended its circuit breaker system to cool down when the market experiences a rapid gain or loss, bourse said in its website.
The Colombo Stock Exchange, which announced that it will not be commencing trading on April 22nd, said a market Halt to be further imposed for 30 minutes at every 5 % decline under the recent methodology with regard to Index-Based Circuit breakers amended by the CSE on March 20th, 2020.
“If the 5% trigger is reached on or after 2.00 p.m. the market will be halted for the rest of the day,” the notice said.
The closure of the stock exchange has raised concern among some foreign investors as they have been unable to exit.
