In order to hedge against the heavy depreciation of the Rupee, I like to invest in gold or enter into a gold-based investment/fund.
Is anyone able to advise on this matter and if any opportunities are available to invest in gold (commodity) in Sri Lanka?

There's sheme with leading jewellaries, like Kalayni Jewellers. You have pay, say for example, LKR10K for a month for 12 months continuosly and at the end of the period, you get to buy 130K worth of jewellary.

Is there any place I can buy 5g gold biscuits from? When you buy jewellery it has less of a realizable value.

BOC Head office have a gold outlet. Ceybank Gold shop. Call them and ask if they have in stock as most of the time these are out of stock. this is the best option for investment as there are Swiss and Australin minted quality gold coins and biscuits

Jewellery isn't a wise investment choice. Only GOLD is - invest in coins, biscuits.

finally when this investment has appreciated, how are going sell it in sri lanka? As far as i know, there are no direct gold buyers, only pawning centers.
