Sri Lanka International Sovereign Bonds gained significantly, especially of the short-term bond maturities after the announcement of USD 1.5 Bn currency SWAP with China. ISBs maturing in 2021 & 2022 gained with the news, easing off the looming default fear.

Question is what has the government promised to China in return for this 1.5Billion swap? ANC is silent on that. When time comes to payback that money Sri Lanka needs to sell its assets unless that money is properly utilized to generate income and boost dollar reserves!
