Maturing debentures are not a dilemna as you claim it to be-- banks back each other if not back themselves. If you are alert about the debt market, you may be knowing that LOLC Finance issued debentures. This may be to service to service HNB's debentures. This is hypothetically speaking to clarify my point on how capitalist economies back the monetary system, but such arrangement may be in place.

Other banks may back other financial institutions in similar fashion

After the whole broker credit saga and UNHCR vote, I feel that the market is now steady.
Until mid April we should expect ASPI to go up only up to around 7500-7600, bull run may start in May.

HNB prices will stay around 128-136 or so until that time. Doubt if the debentures maturing was an issue.

Port city bill if passed in parliament may drive the market up I believe before that.
