Asia Capital's weekly report

Strengthening Fundamentals...............

The Colombo bourse initiated the week on a relatively mixed note and gained ground during the latter part to wrap up the week in negative territory. The All Share Index dipped 47.85 points (WoW) to close at 6844.7 points (-0.7%), whilst the more liquid Milanka Price Index also dipped by 94.9 points (WoW) to close at 6344.4 points (-1.5%). The All Share Index dipped mainly on the back of losses made by Ceylon Cold Stores (-22% WoW), Kotagala Plantations (-12% WoW), Capital Development & Investment Company (-11.7% WoW), Equity One (-9.7% WoW), CIC Holdings (-9.4% WoW), The Finance Company (-9.1% WoW) and The Nuwara Eliya Hotels Company (-8.6% WoW).

You have missed the more important stuff.

'Learning from Greece' section ends with,

Thus it is evident that structure of Sri Lanka economy shows an alarming similarity with that of Greece, skewed towards imports than it was several years back. In consequence, if the growth in export earnings continues to be lower than debt servicing payments, then, escalating debt would inevitably become a major concern for Sri Lanka.

Generally I like the way AisaWealth presents the many other research reports as well as the weekly report (FOCUS), but there are few areas that ignored in updating - KEY BUYs.

The classic example is their recomendation on LION " .... The Indian venture (22.5% stake by LION) is to add value to LION’s bottom line in the medium-long term due to the long term nature of the investment...." All we know LION few weeks ago announced its decision to exit from the Indian venture ... so how came it adding value in medium-long term??

Also see the market prices that they recomended to buy (date of the report 1st July 2011). i.e. BFL @371/-, HNB-X@124.80, LION 225/- ... etc.
