Finally market closed and SFS up by 18 rupees and SHL up 7.80 SFL up by Rs 7 total contribution from this twp is 32.80 in addition to that LMF up by Rs 9.10 SUGA by Rs 2 and TPL Rs 3.50...No need to indicate share volume here....VONE,SFS,SHL,PAP are the main contributors...just go though http://www.cse.lk/listedcompanies/overview.htm you will have clear indication...
DO you think market is really up!

I think it's too early to say something about it.We need to analyze at least two three days how market behave. But I personally believe it may be the turnaround point of the market.

Agree.,,, Some stocks seem to be artificially propped up. ...When we exclude those ups and downs ....and see.... overall market is not going down any further,...... this trend was observed even yesterday .....while there was an excessive selling pressure on some counters. overall there is a buying interst on other counters as well... hope this would sustain..

well, it's too early. Maybe it was panic buying... It's amazing how some chase behind rallying stock, even after the lessons we have learned. If this green market continues for 2 more days... it could be a good sign. I feel we have a long way to go

Too early to decide. It went down more than 3% first 2 days of the week and it bounce little bit today which is not a big surprise. Have to watch few more days....

anyhow good to see SHL going up as retailers can sleep well now....

I don't think this was a turnaround. It reminds me of a famous saying about stock markets. A share can fall from 100 to 1. That is a 99% loss. The next day it'll go to 2. That is a 100% gain!!

This may be the same situation to a lesser degree. Market fell more than 250 points in two days and rose by just around 50. So it is not a real gain..!!

Besides, whatever caused the market to fall is still out there. So I think it's far too early to relax and jump at whatever counter that goes up, hoping it to be the next mega rally..

Oh C'mon guys, It is not right to say that our market is falling because of the negative effect of other foreign markets. If it is so, SL market should go up when other markets are rising. But that is not the case. Exposure of SL market to international markets is very little. Fall or rise will happen due to our own country characteristics my friend. Good news is that some of the fundamentally strong stocks will start picking up sooner than later.

We also have a responsibility to make SL market, a good performing market. Do not always spread negatives. Try to talk about positives too.
