With the end of the 3 decade civil war triggered the CSE on an upward movement which was stagnating for several years after then President Chandrika Bandaranaike over threw the Right wing United National Party government & taking over the control back in to her folder with the support of extremist leftist JVP, which was not in favour of investors & it made them flee away from SL in searching for better liberalized markets & economies for their investments.

After passing off many struggled years the Colombo Stock Exchange attracted its momentum in year 2010 and many new investors in form of global funds to local retailer were flooding in to CSE seeking quick gains, which ear marked Colombo Stock exchang as one of the best performing stock markets around the world, just second to another mischief secondary market, Mongolia...

Since then 2010 onwards due to plenty of new investors with lack of knowledge over secondary markets made easy in roads to fraudulent High Net worthy Individuals and so called Investment advisers to sucks the uneducated retailers life earnings In the disguise of Rallies and speculative rumors. Yet, even today in 2011 CSE is ridden by time by timely created false rallies which runs for maximum of 5 day week and thereafter returning back to its previous level, There by Diminishing Billions of rupees which should be come to quick attention of financial regulatory bodies of the Republic. But unfortunately that the least thing the Central Bank of Sri Lanka & the Securities & Exchange Commission is doing.

If these type of rallies to be continued for further more weeks or months, undoubtedly will take the one of Asias oldest Stock market to another Dhaka Stock Exchange.

I strongly point my finger to the governing bodies for turning blind eye on these rallies & letting to continue the Diminishing of Billion of Rupees in hours/days, They will ruin the CSE in cumming days if not for months.

Poor retailers are to be the Rats for the Pied Pipers...! I feel sorry for investors at CSE but not for rally chasers for sure...!

It's time for Investors to move out of Colombo Browse and let the gamblers & regulators play one sided instead of becoming scape goat for them...!

Should we investors say Good Bye to CSE...?

Now there is less room for speculative rallies... due to credit restrictions , surveillance system and regulations… etc….. I concentrate on yearly and quarterly financial results nowadays…

Actually SFS is not a familiar stock... I checked what SFS is….… I am not interested in unfamiliar stocks….. I haven’t followed it up to say anything about that stock…it is up to the relevant authorities to look in to any issues...I really do not know…

I have read some where if a company's public holding is more than 20% (or 25% can't remember correctly) it will not get caught in the price band.

I also read that article. It said if the public float is more than 30%, then it won't get caught with the price band, but I remember they imposed band on a stock (As I remember it was LDEV) which had more than 30% public float.

My understand is; quite heavy volumes to be traded with a significant price increase, say more than 15% a day to be eligible for the ban.. Also in SFS case; the number of 1.4Mn only on last day and normally its around 2Mn..

today also medium term stocks went up slowly,…. short term ... no benefits. I don’t look for short term gains…investments.... generally need to wait for few months…
