As it was much talked about individuals whom are having large stake in sum companies i initiate this topic. It has already been much talked about KDD Perera, Harry J, Nimal Perera & Dr. Senthilverl. Therefore apart from these individuals whom are having large chunks of company shares in their own name or indirect holding, what do you know about them. Please reveal.

This would help to identify each person interest and how does the companies share behave. It can benefit the forum members to identify more solid stocks and earn better.

Here are few which i would like the members to give further information about while you also can search and reveal others who are not in the below list:
Mr. Page
Mr. Captain
Mr. Udeshi
Dr.N Kasim
Mr. Pathirage
Mr. Esufally
Mr. Devasurendra
Mr. Pandithage (Dimo)
Mr. Al Nakib
Mr. W P A S Perera
Mr. Radhakrishnan
Mr. RFT Perera
Mr. Senathirajah
Mr. Sithampalam

Transparency of information is a vital factor of any stk Exchange. Further it should be informative. So, knowing of High Net Worth Investor would be useful to new comers as well as elders to know who are popping up.

Have a profitable week.!

As investors, specially retail investors it would be useful to get an idea about those people. Usually they don’t put huge money for useless businesses, and they are backed by their own research teams and also they get other investor critical information including insider deals, political decisions as they closely allied with politicians, strategic decision markers etc. which most of us the small investors do not get. However their plans might be entirely different from small investors , sometimes they only want to enter the director board and their holding power is different from most of us. In that case it would be wise to watch them but definitely not to follow them blindly.
Some examples, If someone invested along with KDD in RCL,REEF they are winners now.
The other one is HarryJ- DIST par value was 1/= (Prior to new companies act) now trading around 170, and we can’t think of what he is going to do from the money with get from Sri Lanka insuarance deal, NAMAL fund and by future selling of Lanka Bell.
Above famous two investors are also closely linked with politicians, and they hold top positions in many companies as well as government bodies (KDD-BOI; HarryJ Petrolium corporation).

Agree RockStock.. its a worthy cause we study these high net worth guys to understand their philosophy behind their investments..
Though anybody wants to sit in director board, big ppl wont be looking at mushroom companies for investment.. they want ROI as well as prestige in a position of the company they invest..
So its always good to have a look at what they do with their investments..
Not to follow them just to identify the potentiality and see the future as they see it..

its a really good article, as a matter of policy i used to go through the Largest shareholders list before investing in any companies, and i categories them in to 3 level

If some investors hold some shares then for those companies i go for long term,
because of some shareholders i go it for medium term and if i saw some shareholders name in that list i never invest in that company as a matter of my personal policy

Tru Gaja.. my bro even often look for the respected directors before he invests in a company as he knows the names of credible guys with his experience.. We also have to look whther the names have been there for atleast 2 annual reports before we go on long term.. high net wothy investers are smarter than us and their exp tells them where to invest long, where for med term..
Along with out tech/ fundamental studies, its worth to go thru all qtr reports and find who has increased their shares qtr to qtr as well..
