June quarter earnings seasons will be resilience of the corporate sector as well. Valuations on fundamentally sound stocks with earnings potential offer attractive investment opportunities at the current price levels, the immediate direction of the market remains volatile. Nevertheless corporate earnings for the June quarter are expected to flow in next week which will present attractive valuations at current levels, which should give some impetus to investor sentiment and market momentum. Daily Turnover were driven with the support of few small to mid-sized transactions on selected blue chips indicating the fact that high net worth and corporates remains confident while sticking to fundamentals. However re – entrance of foreigners to the market could put a U turn towards the activity levels In the future which in turn would build up the confidence level of local investors.

Even if it happens to be good, the mkt will rise only for 2 or 3 days. Until the regulators put their butts in for at least for some relaxation of rules the maket will not pick up.

Banks and Financial sector will produce good results for sure.Plantation also will do well,as the wage hike is not reflected in this quarter results.

yes. ppl have no money now. empty pocket. Unless credit relaxarion or/and public sector active support to fill the gap(shortfall of demand against the increased supply)we cant expect a big run only with good performance of the june Q.

this could be true in most cases. If I am not wrong LFIN had it's results released, but it wasn't impressive, in fact below last quarter. The share price went up from 170 to 175 and closed below 170. most of the investors have got their fingers burnt and will not go behind results.

Compared to last year almost all results would be good because of tax benefits etc not because of core business performance that matters. So be careful with comparing with last year results.

I think it is worth to consider the tax concessions to the corporate sector from the last year budget. New tax rate applicable is 28% from 1st April 2011. So profits should increase for the financial year 2011/2012 which would increase the value of the equity holders.

Experts please comment on this.
