Comparison to immediate last quarter. (In the last quarter there was a 20% decline from the immediate quarter if I remember.)

Gross Turnover
03 2011 8,567,000
06 2011 7,244,000

Gross Profit
03 2011 1,844,000
06 2011 1,480,000

Net Profit
03 2011 664,000
06 2011 636,000

Net profit is flat.

So the company has done well atleast to keep the profit flat compared to previous quarter given the fact that there was so much speculation that its bottom line will be affected by the recent unfavourable tax reforms.

As I know, tax reforms did't affect diesel vehicles and high engine capacity vehicles. Hence it might have been a small pinch not a blow on DIMO.

Well...that is exactly what I said on 01-Aug in this thread below - There were some of the opinion that all automobile companies are going to be affected by the increase in tax - I am sure they didn't even analyse the reforms carefully.

http://forum.srilankaequity.com/t7577-future-of-dimo-share-price#51646

...But this will surely compensate the anticipated drop in sales of other vehicles due to recent tax increase. One other thing to note is the recent tax increase only affected the vehicles having engine capacity less than 1600CC. So the sale of DIMO's high end vehicles like merc's will not be affected.

Also govt recently revised the age rule of recon cars imported to the country. It has dropped from 3.5 years to 2 years thereby making the recon cars expensive in the market. In my opinion, this can increase the demand for brand-new cars over recon cars as the gap has now reduced.

Overall I am positive about DIMO.

DIMO movement is one big enigma. In recent times I have not seen a share with lesser volume ( only 8.8 Million shares) and this high Eps with possible medium term growth or sustenance stagnate this long.

Until those seller/s are there DIMO price will stay. But one fine time I hope some big shot comes and buy all these share offered at bargains. Then DIMO share price will be justified.

One thing to note is DIMO gained heavily after the boom period. But that does not mean it should not go up further on current and future expectations.

One fine day few of us are hoping to have the last laugh( hope I will not be proved wrong with company trading at around 4 pe even if they report Rs 60 per quarter over the next 2 ) .

Until good times ... all for one one for all DIMO holders.

Actually it **IS** flat. Look at the gross profit numbers, income from its normal operations.
Anyway it's good old established company.
