PMB EPS is high because they sold their subsidiary, the profit is shown inside other income.

the biggest fun is in the entry and exit of Nimal Perera.

according to a disclosure Nimal Perera had 10% on 21st June, (price moved upto 40 levels based on rumors in June)
http://www.cse.lk/cmt/uploadAnnounceFiles/7701308632826_405.pdf

however at 30th June according to the financial Nimal Perera only has 3.6%

Usual story, a HNWI buys at a lower price, on news of the said purchase retailers start to blindly buy and push the price up, HNWI sells for a nice trading profit, retailers become long term investors.

Is this news also related to this company - http://forum.srilankaequity.com/t4800-sri-lanka-emagewise-buys-chunk-of-people-s-merchant?highlight=Sri+Lanka+Em

What about Dilith Jayaweera & Emagewise?

http://print.dailymirror.lk/business/127-local/46599.html

http://www.lankabusinessonline.com/fullstory.php?nid=1426880734

Emagewise bought 20% of PMB on 10 June 2011, and gave it a lot of publicity, without any formal disclosure to the CSE.

And as at 30 June 2011, Emagewise isn't even in the Top 20 shareholders of PMB.

Retailers should be wary of 'trading on newspaper headlines'. Don't blindly follow big-fish traders.

But CSE should also be more proactive in investigating these 'pump and dump' shares which seem to be manipulated and where retailers are left holding the baby.

This is a very good lesson for those who follow HNWI. I am still waiting to see the top 20 share holder list of PAP and CLND.

I also believe there would be a rally, anyway current price of Rs.23/- is not an un-fair price for PMB.
