1Q fy12 net profit of 276 mn rupees - up from 1Q fy11 net profit of 103 mn rupees

EPS given as 42 cents - seems to be time weighted for IPO, as with current number of shares of 779 mn, EPS would be 35 cents

4 billion rupees raised in June IPO would help reduce large debt burden

but 3.3 billion already spent to buy 74% of AAIC, and mandatory offer pending

Softlogic Capital and Central Hospital may be looking at listing on CSE soon

It's really worth Keep under observation, If any one interested in Long term investment.
Listing of their subsidiaries will further strengthen their capital position.
The growth of private sector healthcare is yet to come, along with increase of per capita income and with growth of health insurance policies.
Their leisure sector will start deliver only after 2 years, 24 story 5 star hotel to be managed by Movenpick would be fascinating.We will not have such a hotel property in Sri Lanka until Shangri-La entry into the seen in 2014.

Sure they have, However post IPO diluted EPS would be around .35,Still it seems good, now it's reaching fair value territory,
Next few quarters will be much better, specially if they list Central hospital and Softlogic Capital will strengthen their balance sheet,
Their Leisure sector will take some time to deliver results.

Apart from the financials, I think from 22.5-25.3 range u have a fair amount of play left for short term trading too.. Just my thinking only..

i think this level Ok for collecting, we didn't see any massive selling below 23 level recent days. hard to think this will trade below 22 or 20.
There won't be any huge selling pressure till 28, 25 will be a barrier.

If i was Pathirage, i will not allow to buy any single SHL share between 20~28 for retail investors.

I dont think he cares about retailers that much. If he does he should have not sold SHL shares at 29 in the 1st place.

But still more share holding with PP at Rs 7 level. once some one dispose it at lower price.. the SHL share will go down. i think before dispose SHL by carson group they have did some study...

Fun facts;

Softlogic started as a small software development company with 12 employees, and 1 million rupee investment.

Now today after 20 years this company records a 135million US$ turnover with 4600 employees.

Imagine if you had invested 500,000 LKR in this small company 20 years ago, where you would be today. Very Happy

One bad thing about SHL is it's driven almost fully on credit. That's not healthy for investors. Now when the interest rates are going up and hard to find funding, profits will be eaten by debts.
