Is the 'rally' phenomenon characteristic of the CSE?
I can't see how the current bank and hotel shares can go up because they have gone up for the worth of a few years into the future.

Yes true. Both banking & hotel sector shares are over heated ( except very very few shares).
2010 was the year to make money blindly. 2011 will involve alot wait & see games.

Ex HNB hovering around Rs 400.00 people expecting it will go around Rs 600.00 but last 12 months the price of HNB has been appreciated more than double. Do people expect this every year????

Ex 2 : PABC was well below Rs 20.00 about 10 months ago & now its Rs 55.00

WHAT ELSE YOU CAN EXPECT........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shocked Shocked

If you really want to invest in banking go for CFIN & SAMP ( I'm not a promoter as I already sold mine Smile )

Well most hotels are overvalued . UK Boy has a point on banks but we still find undervalued counters in Bank and Fin sector which has been relatively stagnant from Sept . I have discussed about them in this forum. So picking Banks/Fin wisely will give you decent return in the medium term with budget benefits. Having said that most some of the large cao banks trade with a higher PBV and PE now so we cnanot expect them to go up by drastic amounts. HNB and COMB comes to mind though they are solid shares and have foreign interest also.

Large scale share movements were seen in the banking sector these days, financial results also brilliant.
