Guys,
due to popular demand i have placed the database over here
All you have to do is, unzip it and open database through Amibroker
The above database consists
2009 to 30th September End of Day Data
3rd Oct - 14th Oct Intra day data (All the trades, so you can get the charts for 15minute / hourly intervals)
Have a analytical week end

I think quibit has mistaken it.Amibroker is a licensed software and many members are using it.There is no intellectual property violation here.
We are only discussing user aspects of the software.
we all have a problem in getting reliable trading data.
The work of People like samueldaniel must be encouraged because there is no free data provider in sri lanka.if there is a data source or a vendor in sri lanka the country csan save this money paid to data vendors operating from foreign countries.

i do not gain (or loose) anything by providing data,
may be they want to purchase the data from Metastock for 1620 USD per year,

Instructions to use :
Download the database unzip it, use it with your (OWN legal) Amibroker
it contains end of the day data from 2009 - 30th Sep 2011
and 3rd Oct to 14th Oct Tick data (all the data) so you can do the Intraday charts as well, as we cannot rely on the EOD data only

Samueldaniel7, You have not violated anything but it is just a word of caution. I was once directly contacted by AMIBROKER after seen some links in our forum which appeared in the google search. Subsequently, those links were deleted by me to comply with our international policy. Thats why I have been extra cautious about Amibroker.

Thanks for the clarification,

i just want to share the data for free , my view is when the data is available free (or which can be transformed in to ami/metastock formats for free with minimal effort) why we should pay bloomberg / metastock 1,000s of dollers,

by the way ill try to do a detailed guide how to get realtime live data from DirectFN,
Direct FN has a function called Dynamic Data linking (Thats how we link self updating excel sheets)
so with conjunction with the historical database we can automatically set amibroker to be updated automatically, so that brings free data minute by minute

Also Amibroker has powerfull features like automatic market scanning etc

and also i belive ppl can afford to buy amibroker as its cheap when compared to other products such as bloomberg desktop / metastock , may be powerfull than them

by the way if you want to give a link / section to post data , i dont have to use a external link anyways

Currently the DDE feature is available on AMi.. and Excel formulas works with Ami so that's why the DFN was useful..
Sorry I've not seen the feature supports any other broker systems even CDAX. I may be wrong, let Sammy do some research and find out whether its feasible..

You make me feel very silly to have paid Rs 50,000 for metastocks softaware with monthly subscription payment of Rs3,500 for end of the day (EOD) stock market data. May be high time I discontinue the software and move to Amibroker. Very Happy

OMG, i think you can update it free manually even for metastock (but im not sure about the live data, but eod can be done for sure,
I dont think you can base short term decisions based on EOD data, atleast we need to have 1 hr candlesticks, the whole point of technical analysis is to figure out before the other fellows spot the winning stock

but amibroker you can have live data, so its more powerfull than directfn (for me direct fn charts looks like a retarded one)

may be i dont like the java windows , more over in Amibroker you can back test a strategy to fine tune it,

Im not promoting amibroker here, but its affordable (279 usd a licenced version) trial available, and lots of technical / scripting support through forums so i think now its time to look for something cheap and effective,

rather than giving all our money to bloomberg and reuters

No. It is true. Software purchase cost of Rs 50,000 seems a sunk cost. Only thing I could do now is to discontinue Monthly subscription and save US$ 35 per month, provided that I have an alternative way to upgrade prices and symbols.

Need to how to upload daily price data and symbols to metastocks.

Well.. I'm not using Meta but the updating can't be that complex..
I think the best person who u can get this is Sammy.. as I could remember he developed the database on Meta and converted it to Ami..

Everyday I get the EOD from them and I just spend 30 sec to convert them to Metastock format.
