Anyone have confidence in Capital Alliance and NDB Investment Bank in getting the issue fully subscribed???

I have few friends who work at both places, but are not reveling anything ...

Anyone heard anything?? Let's be honest, the retailers coming in at the last moment are not going to make a difference on a 7 Bn IPO!!!

This will definitely over subscribe on first day. But it doesn't mean this should be a successful IPO in secondary market in first few days. But fir sure this IPO is worth for "investors" and truly long term players.

There is a rumor that big people in PLC trying hard to get big institutions to subscribe for this IPO. It appears they feel the same way.

In my office almost everybody subscribed to previous IPOs. But not anymore. No body subscribe for this IPO.

I herd from an employee of PLC that employees of PLC are being arranged loans from a private bank up to Rs. 2.0 Million to purchase shares from this IPO. That employee asked me whether to take it and apply for this IPO. I just told him that there will be a huge selling pressure on the first trading day since every employee is applying for this loan and trying to be rich on the first day. Hmmmmmmmmm

Heard at 12% from N*B. This is to fill the 10% allocated for employees. More senior employees may be [are?] trying hard as they want to increase price, at least by 1, July 2012 to sell "FREE" shares they got.

Correct. I did not want mention the name of this bank. It is N*B. Looks like they are doing IPO work and also marketing loans as well...........

Yes the N*B bank giving loans at a pace these days. In past this bank traded at lower P/E ratio due to poor mobilization of their assets/Deposits, seems now trend is changing, probably influenced by some aggressive directors who entered recently. Wink

People who intend to buy this in the IPO please do not sell within few days for less. If you are trying to do the same as what you did in BIL, FLCH, EXPO, SHL, etc then you should not invest in a market.

If you think its overly valued, or anyother negative signs, then leave it. I dont think its that hard?

Note: I dont have any plan to buy this at IPO or near future (unless its dirt cheap).

These cash rich Directors sometimes can do wonders Smile

Directors, companies or retailers whoever bought this bank shares always tried to exit soon than stay there for long time.

Looking forward to see whether this attitude will change with the new board.....

I think the IPO will oversubscribe but probably fall below IPO price on the first trading day. So, not preferable in either short term or long term, because you might be able to grab them at a lower value on the first trading day (like SHL).

stock has a great potential based on long term perspective.....based on dividend valuation it has a target price of around LKR22.00 to LKR24.00...........So my advice is to subscribe PLC...bt not to dumb on first day itself....keep it for 6 month....you can surly gain some god buck............

I do not think PLC IPO will have such a drastic fall.SHL case was different-there was a PP at Rs9.00. and at that time lot of retailors expected to get a big profit on first day but now they might have learned at least some lesson.

mark, who has given approval for this huge IPO. SEC or CSE .They are the ppl responsible for giving approval to this IPO at a bad time.

If they subscribe from IPO I think they can.If they have bought from a PP after March/April(I can not remeber exact date)2011 then they have to keep those shares for one year from the PP date.

Dont think IPOs are bad because of they sucks money from the bourse....ya thats tru IPSs sucks money in the bourse but....that money comes to the real economy......cash circulated in the CSE dosnt have any use to the real economy..those money just circulate among investors and ultimatly it might ended up with some manipulor's hand...but when it comes to an IPO that cash comes to the real economy, therefor in long term basis IPOs help to improve the macro economy and it will possitively impact on the bourse.......

I am not saying friend IPOs are bad. We need a wider market to encourage investors and to expand the capital market which could create more and more oppotunities for the players. But at a time that market is not performing well it is not advisable to approve huge IPOs like this.

Lamayo.. look in this terms;
1) This IPO is huge, ppl need money to subscribe, do money grow on trees? NO, can ppl allocate money from their pockets, salary? YES few can but the rest cant due to living cost gone high.. so the common men sell their stuff on market and apply for IPOs expecting a gain from the market.. for sure u'll atleast get 2000 shares if you ask.. But current market is goin harwire, due to more and more money being pulled out its getting into a #$% hole too so valuable counters sold @ dirt cheap, every1 is losing money..

2) The number of shares are higher than 300Mil.. All public institutes and investment trusts will subscribe and this will get oversubscribed too.. no wonder cuz ppl like u and me cant apply and oversubscribe a large IPO like dis ne Wink Then the question comes.. if we all bought shares do we have more ppl to sell these? say 50K ppl bought 2K shares each that makes 1/6 of the issue.. say we were given 4000 each still its 1/3 of the issued.. So will there be anyone to sell at a higher price?

There's nothing wrong with the company other than they had a oneoff last time which boosted the results and when u deduct that it was not worthy to buy @ 18.. Then again the company is a well renowed one for their name, ability and govt backing so there wont be an issue in future too..
So u gotta ask whether u buy it now or wait to see whether u can buy this around 14-16 range in secondary market Wink.. Well I'm not buying this from IPO for fun even..
