i was looking at tafl and their per unit margins have gone up from last quarter.

last quarter revenue/cost=304 696 / 278 493 = 1.09408854
this quarter revenue/cost=326 839 / 245 006 = 1.33400407

so they look much more profitable. i think the cost of maize may have gone down.

In the Gran Report
The group turnover increased by 39% during the period under review
mainly due to increase in sales volume in the Feed Milling & Poultry
Breeder segments. However due to the higher cost of raw materials the
profit margins of all the products has been considerably reduced during
the 3rd quarter 2011. The efficient working capital management, lower
interest rates and favourable movement in exchange rates brought down
the group finance cost by 86% during the first nine months of 2011 when
compared with the same period of 2010

on TAFL Report
The breeder operation made profit during the period under review due to
the higher demand for day-old-chicks in the market. The performance of
breeder farms & hatcheries has improved significantly due to the
efficient farm management. The Management believes that the
profitability will improve further with the seasonal demand expected in
the final quarter of 2011.

Out of the 3 , yes BFL is in a stronger position due to their own Maize situation. Will be interesting to see whether the new farm has some impact.

My view is TAFL is the best, as it's not directly exposed to maize price volatility.

I Saw 2 negative aspect of GRAN Report

01. deleted Perera Exit from GRAN
02. Capital Trust Sec Exit from GRAN

I feel those are sentiments that market running rather than High EPS or Low PE doesent work out in CSE Razz
