The Colombo Stock Exchange is organising a road show to Singapore later this month.

An investment forum themed ‘Invest Sri Lanka’ will take place at the Ritz Carlton, Millenia Singapore on November 29 where Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal is expected to deliver the keynote address.

CSE CEO Ms. Surekha Sellahewa would also deliver a presentation to prospective investors.

The CSE says the event is aimed at facilitating an opportunity for fund managers, investors and analysts from across the region to conduct targeted discussions with select Sri Lankan corporates.

The Sri Lankan High Commission in Singapore is partnering the exchange in this endeavour.

Unless fresh investments are coming in, hidden monies of HNWI's/ manipulators coming in and until new person with abilities of making a positive change at CSE is appointed as DG, the market is going to be like this. Delays in any of the above will delay the postivie growth of the market.
So it will be a Herculean task for CSE/SEC. Because the damaged is already done to the market, retail investors are shot down because their hard earned monies are eaten by sharks. So there should be something attractive for the big investors. We are now looking forward for that day? Will it be tomorrow or next year or never???????

Agree; but don't they have to do more to safeguard the current investors interests first.

New comers must understand that Sri Lanka can do such road shows only because the market valuations have improved and SEC is partly responsible for this. We need to be reasonably attractive to have such investment propaganda and i think we are now entering that phase.

We now have many companies with good valuations, many IPO's in the market increasing the number of companies, companies increasing the share volume by splits/rights, rapid economic growth expected in the coming years with our companies growing 30-40% annually over last 2 years, stable political environment, stable currency and inflation, etc..

It is really hard for us not to grow and the reason for this is we have 2.5 billion people living above us and a fraction of their trade is sufficient for us to grow our economy like never before. The government must target this!

Cheers!

True, first they satisfy their existing investors before canvsassing for new investors and put the house in order. Otherwise the monies you spend on those road shows will be in vain and lose existing retail investors in the long run. These are just basics in business.
