No ppl are waiting for regulatory support. You may be a mid or long term inverstor. but there are plenty of retailors. Market need their push also. See what happen. Lots of retailors are away. like you ppl came & invest, but less activity, less trading, no confidence, bla bla .....

I am not a retailor,invetor like you. ppl need a good pratical decisions now. But new lokka seems still not starting to think. waiting until 21st. "Katussage kare Ran Malayak banda wage" wai da dont know.

Look at the tournover getting lower. Not like war days.........

SEC can not move the market. What they can do is to perform their statutory role in good faith without any fear or favour and prepare the stage for the market to react. If they are ubable to have at least a meeting to take stock of the current situation who else can? This is tipical Sri Lankan style (irre)regulation. God bless the market.

It appears that in our country SEC is moving the market not company earnings! lol!

Is the case in other countries too?

What do you think of the kind of very low turnover at CSE?

Is it really a lack of liquidity in the market or people are patiently waiting with holding funds (no liquidity issue at all)?

If it is the case then there is no liquidity issue at all. Once there will be certain relaxation with rules there should be a clear upward movement. I don't think the bubble theory will be applicable here if indeed people are holding funds.

Osmand, agree with you.
Small investors are loosing their money on a daily basis and exit the market.

Now we have a SEC incapable of holding a meeting to address current issues or give a solution to the dying market. Lokka says nothing can be done during the holiday season and nicely relaxing while the market is sinking.

In case people are still too slow to realize this ,
They are waiting till new year where all the credit problems from previous years are over and when investor confidence return to give the good announcements! The announcements will come when the market is slightly up from normal good sentiment of new year season and the SEC news will help push it a bit more!

I too believe that the new head does not want to relax the credit restriction of former administrators. I appreciate that as it is a good thing not to betray the former officials action because if they do it it is a betrayal of the position not the person.

However, he will relax these rules after 31st December as the previous credits are no more. This is a kind of diplomatic move.

Also, I believe that market should be given the opportunity to recover itself rather than relaxing and imposing rules time to time. Also GoSL must avoid from taking ill-timed actions which has an effect on the market.

Note: my portfolio is also red from last April, but during this period also I earned something patiently.

so according to past rule all credit must be clear by the end of Dece 2011 to settle credit peaple have to sacrifice thaire money but i dont think they will give more credit i feel wll remove 10% price band and reduce brokerages %

All existing credit (in excess of limits) must be cleared by end-December...
I think they will give fresh credit, based on 2 times of each broker's net worth.
Reducing the percentage of brokerage fees is an excellent idea, but will they agree?

company earning will run the market if SEC relase the rules as president advcie in the meeting with the brockers.. That why all are wating for the meeting to see the out come. thinking credit rule to be relaxed and price band to be abloished.

New SEC will go for a more stable market.
End of December will give the final part of credit clearance.
But there will be an announcement which may trigger the market in January.
Any way market will be a better one than we had in 2011.
Guys....we will wait ...few more days..
