Sterling BPO Solutions has signed an agreement with the BOI to set up a business process outstanding (BPO) solution and IT related services in Katunayake.
The total investment is US$ 4.95 million.
Sterling BPO Solutions CEO Prasad Siriwardena told Daily News Business that the company will offer its services to external business clients including domestic and international clients from next month.
The company will create over 300 employments by 2013. The BPO industry is the fifth largest revenue generator in Sri Lanka in an export sector. Sri Lanka, with an ambition to become a prominent knowledge based service hub in Asia has attracted the BPO industry, being a preferred destination.
He said the intention of the company is to provide 70 percent of its services to the global community.
“There are over 20 Sri Lankan companies presently engaged in the BPO industry. But there will be no competition to be the best,” he said.
Sterling BPO Solutions includes banking and financial services, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, telecommunications and retail and consumer products.
