Don't see any buying from EPF or SLIC. Is there a reason. Dose anyone have information.

EPF audited reports were heavily criticised at Parliament CORP meeting recently over their unwise investments and resultant losses. That may be a reason for their absence in the market.

We are in a buying market now. Lot of funds are collecting shares without spoiling the market and zero publicity. This might take some more weeks. I think EPF and other government funds are also in the same mode. Publicity is negatively affected for Gov. Funds and certain HNWIs and now they are trying to avoid media attention.

If we look at GRAN which was a badly affected investment for EPF (Not a bad share at all, but due to some reason EPF bought it at a unjustifiable price Rs. 228/-), they were continually buying up to Sep. 2011. When Dec. 2011 results are out we can see whether EPF continue to do so. I believe their average cost is now bellow 190/-. During last eight months GRAN touch 70s twice. Only thing at these levels they can collect only retail quantities that are selling due to panic and margin sales.

One this is sure, that EPF will not sell at a loss as it will create a revolt among members of the fund.

EPF not buying share for trading so even the price go down they will hold it. they buy for investment so will keep minimum 3-5 year without selling....

So they did not much care on this price down turn...
