Right now, this country is facing a balance of payments 'crisis'. we have been facing these crisis for quite sometime now, the interesting thing however is the regularity. the Last BoP crisis occurred in 2008, the one before that 2004, and before that 2000. It seems we have been seeing this pattern every 4 years.

Can someone please let me know whether that Hambantota port is fully functional? or is it making any money at all?

Construction must be finish by now, regardless of making any money.

port authority says the "The project is planned to be completed by 15th April 2011.
The first vessel was ceremonially berthed at Hambantota Port on 18th November this year. A number of foreign and local entrepreneurs have already expressed interest to invest in the business opportunities at the port." Rolling Eyes
