LOLC Deputy Chairman Ishara Nanayakkara has fled the country amidst a CID investigation into an illegal acquisition of land on Cotta Road in Colombo, sources from the Police Headquarters said.
When the Chief Executive of the Taprobane Company, Kamantha Amerasinghe was summoned by the CID for questioning about this illegal land transaction, he had revealed many details about the millionaire businessmen Ishara Nanayakkara and Ajith Devasurendra to IP Mohan Siriwardena.
He has told the CID that he had signed cheques amounting to millions of rupees to be given to several politicians and high ranking government officials by the Taprobane Company due to pressure from the two businessmen.
It is in this backdrop that Ishara Nanayakkara has fled the country and has telephoned several politicians and asked them to help him get out of this mess and has also promised large bribes to high ranking officers to clear the allegations against him.

How credible is this article?? Does anyone know anything about the truthfulness of this issue?? LOLC has rejected the claim saying that its false. Is it really false??
