As our government encourage exports, we could expect export companies to perform a lot better and have a good run in CSE.

While banking sector could struggle export sector companies has the potential to dominate CSE.

few export companies come to mind like TJL, OGL, and plantation companies.

what do u think guys? Investing in export companies and good selected tourism based firms(hotels) could bring a huge capital gain in few years time, could it be? (provided that our government achieve their targets of increasing exports)

As you said Exporting companies are now earning more than that of last year due to LKR depriciation. Therefore theoreticaly they will have to perform well with increased reveneu and profits. Other than the companies you mentioned I could add HEXP,HCAB,DIPPand RICH(since they have 3 plantation companies)
Hotels too would perform better as they do pricing of room rentals in US$ terms.

We have to be mindfull of the cost of imported inputs as well, of those "export companies" as the net foreign exchange gain might be minimal in certain sectors such as garment manufacturers, hotels etc., because the costs of inputs increase with the depreciation of the rupee. However, the volume of turnover too will go up as our goods/services will be cheaper & competitive in $ terms, hence, generating more revenue & profits. Companies who could capitalise this situation will win. The export oriented companies whose local value addition is higher will be in the forefront. Look for such companies. ? Can you suggest such companies. Dipped Products, Haycarb, Rich, all plantation companies are examples.

You are right Hapu.
We can cosely monitor DIPP,HAYC,SIL (Samson International) HEXP,REXP, CTEA,HVA,RAL,and BOGA (Bogala Graphite)

All Plantation Companies

Companies such as LDEV,FLCH,RICH as some plantation companies are opparating under them.
EMER(Eastern Merchant) and JFIN also exporting companies over 90% of their sales.
Also good to watch BLUE and RGEM(current performance of these two are not encouraging for me)
DOCK also undertake business in F.E. terms. Last year F.E. Income is around 95%.
CWM is also a exporrting company. Their export income is around 36%

I think members could be able to add if any other companies largely engaged in exports.

Very correct. After March 31st Financials are released most of those companies could be attractive. Anyway good to analyse further if anyone is willing to invest.
