The ‘Organization against corruption’ stated that the approximate cost of the 8 vehicles used by Cabraal, the Central Bank Governor who is now a byword for country’s monumental fiscal muck up is Rs. 800 lakhs !

Vasantha Samarasinghe the National operations Committee member of this Organization addressing a media briefing yesterday (10), revealed this shocking truth and said, this Governor who has brought the country’s economy to the brink of total collapse is using two Monteros for his security detail, a vehicle for his wife and another for his home affairs, among others.

Vasantha Samarasinghe further stated :
This Govt. is eternally imposing price and tariff hikes on essential items including milk foods , flour ,gas and tariff hikes on electricity, and ruthlessly taxing the people . But all the revenue thus collected by the Govt. are being wasted via corruption , robberies and profligacy to the detriment of the nation. It is therefore little wonder that the Govt. and its Central Bank Kingpin Cabraal the ‘economic muddle all’ are unable to arrest the unprecedented inflation in this country or the dire economic crises , with the rupee depreciating by 25% steeply and suddenly, despite all the monumental burdens heaped on the people .

Rs. 7 million worth of shares of the The Finance Co. were sold to the National Savings Bank (NSB). By now those monies have been paid and finished. The NSB had paid a sum of Rs. 382 million. Like Cabraal the parasitic economic muddle all , the higher officials and various politicos are engaged in a hectic plundering of public funds and national assets in broad daylight and with absolute impunity. The purchase of the shares of The finance Co. sold at Rs.30/- in the market at inflated price of 50/- is open looting and plundering of people’s funds.
Under the powers vested in the Govt. by the statute , the Pelawatte and Sevangala sugar Industries were taken over by the Govt. At the time the Govt. acquired them , the Pelwatte and Sevanagala factories were reaping profits of Rs. 700 million and Rs. 150 million respectively. But now by a supplementary estimate , Rs. 200 million had been allocated for running these factories.

There are a number of corrupt and fraudulent transactions raging based on the Auditor General’s report. On projects like the Mihin Lanka ,Air Lanka, Central Bank , Ceylon petroleum Corp., and IIFA ceremony colossal amounts of money had been wasted due to corruption and swindles. Passing a supplementary estimate of Rs.2280 million was necessitated to resuscitate the white elephants Mihin air and Air Lanka. Similarly , a supplementary estimate had to be presented for Rs. 300 million to get down vehicles for Govt. Ministers and Institutions. The Dept, which claims itself as a General Treasury by word and deed, has no capacity to control the wasteful financial exercises of the various Govt. politicos. They are paralyzed in that regard. Similarly the family of the Treasury chief are enjoying the maximum perks and privileges . The family members of the Treasury chief ,have appointed themselves to high rung positions illegally. They have spent recklessly in millions on legal disputes and religious functions. Rs. 1,031,000/- had been spent on the ‘Buddha’s parents’ remembrance function . For another religious function Rs. 5 lakhs ninety thousand was liberally spent. In this way , all Govt. Depts. are indulging in the worst profligacy and corruption like nobody’s business. In most cases they are ostensibly religious but true motives are base.

The Central Bank Governor Cabraal whose mere name when mentioned sends waves of shocks of dread and fear among the masses is using vehicles whose total cost is Rs. 800 lakhs. It is a cruel irony that all these obscenely ostentatious displays (while people are starving) by these ruthless prodigals of this reckless Govt. highest rungs are maintained by the funds of the people –it is an infant’s milk drinking stomach that is hit ; it is the starving people who are hit below the belt via unceasing tax, tariff and price hikes. Therefore we ought to rise against this unprecedented and monumental corruption and profligacy indulged in at the expense of the common man. Let all of us hold hands and rally round the anti corruption Organization to annihilate the corruption , frauds and wastages , and those responsible for them once and for all.
May we add that we take full responsibility for all the information and all the sordid details we have revealed to you.

We have released this information on facts and figures furnished by the Auditor General Dept. In like manner please furnish us with whatever information you possess in this connection , so that we can all unite against corruption , profligacy , robbery and frauds now raging in the country shaking perilously the very foundation of the economy on a most alarming scale as never before.

The Organization announces that it will be holding a special conference to expose the incredibly monumental Rajapakse corruption on the 15th at 3.00 p m.

What you said is true.
But as a voters we are behaved and behaving like third graded.
We need to wake up and at least change the attitude of our surrounding people's mentality.
