UNP yesterday vowed to prove the truth with regard to whether EPF investments in non-blue chips are legal or illegal.

“We categorically dismiss the renewed claims by the Central Bank and the EPF that its investments in non-blue chips are within the law. We will get the correct advice and take necessary action to prove our stand,” UNP MP Dr. Harsha de Silva told the Daily FT last night in response to the latest statement issued by the EPF.

Despite allegations and counter allegations, contentious EPF’s investment strategy is expected to come up again today (7 June) in Parliament, sources said.

100 % agree with you. very belated response with hindsight. If they felt so strongly when the actual "fishy" deals took place in the bull market, they should have shouted from the rooftops ! That is responsible action. now when the market has collapsed, they are rendering the government institutions impotent to take advantage of very low prices and accumulate in the market. as i mentioned before in another article, this is a purely for political mileage and with scant disregard either for the market participants or the future pension fund beneficiaries. very Harsh of you Dr !

As you said the Govt. funds are loosing a good opportunity to collect at bargain levels. We also suffer due to this.

DISCE AUT DISCEDE !

Some people who failed to get at least 2 C passes in GCE A/L at Arrrr O vai A el were sent abroad to join cheap colleges. When brought back, pose as the best PhD holders in Sri lanka. No wonder , not reluctant to play dirty games in politics.
