I guess the CB will seriously think of increasing the rates....because of the direct impact on banking & finance sector.....It is one of the tools for monitoring the inflation which will be double digit very soon....

Market paused on Friday due to short term profit taking and declining profits in CARS and BUKI as we approached the take-off point in the rounded bottom formation on the daily charts. Carsons(CARS) declined Rs.13.40 due to profit after tax for IQ2012

Everybody is eagerly awaiting an official announcement from PBJ regarding the deliberations he had with the SEC, CSE and the Stockbrokers last week.

Next monetary policy committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 8th when it is hotly tipped to announce an easing of policy rates.

We like to stress again that this is probably the last chance to grab the bargains still available in plenty.

SR has been saying that for months, but didn't happen so far. We'll see tomorrow.

Why moderators make this kind of irresponsible and absurd comments! Moderators should make an example to others.

Rates can go either way depending on economic conditions. But our finance companies have operated in much higher rate scenarios and they did well. All the failed companies in the past got failed due to miss-management not due to interest rates. I never heard any ware in the world finance companies are failing due to interest rate fluctuations.

My belief is we will have a relax-monetary policy announcement very soon, may be even tomorrow or maximum within next two months. Inflation what we see now is clearly not demand driven, but due to other factors.

I couldn't see anything wrong on Econ's comment.
High interest rate usually ballon the finance companies customer deposit sector,Which may lead to mis management.

Plus Moderators are managing the forum's day to day activities only, IMHO they got the right to say their own views.
(So many good contributors to this forum in the past nowadays not participating even not logging on frequently after nominating to the forum moderators because of misunderstanding about the moderator's role by our forum members.)

CB also has a committee responsible to monitor finance companies who are registered with them.

Due to interest rate issues only if a fiance company collapses, then there is a problem in two ways
a) the company is not managed well as we saw higher interest rates in 2007 to 2008 and companies still survived
b) CB board is also not doing it job with such finance companies

Smartest move by CB at this time is to keep the present interest rate unchanged in my opinion.

Do you think interest rate is going up or down just because central bank is setting some number? I think that's like using a cork for diarrhea.

Now it is 50% 50%. May go up or stable. It will be depended on the future policies to be followed.

Exactly that is what I want to say implicitly. since last month many agents from finance companies came to my home to promote thier fixed deposit scheme. I also remember same thing happens in 2007-2008..
