Why does GREG think that the criminal investigators would keep the suspects informed and updated about the information about investigations.

Police informing the murder suspect about the investigations:
Dear sir,
We heard the weapon is in the river near your house, we're going to search it tomorrow afternoon.

I thought SEC is investigating the accounts of the Traders who manipulated above 17 counters in different occasions!

Sri Lanka’s Environmental Resources Investments PLC says as per their knowledge the company is not being investigated by the SEC, as reported in a certain media report.
“We would like to place on record that to the best of our knowledge there is no pending investigation on Environmental Resource Investment PLC by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka”, the company said in a stock market disclosure signed by its CEO Erik B. Wickramanayake.
The disclosure also says none of the Directors, Officer’s or Employees of the firm are being investigated by the SEC.
Further the ERI says, either the company or its employees have not received any letter or request for information with respect to any such alleged investigation.
