The bourse ended the week on a flat note with the ASPI losing 0.2% to close at 5351 on limited investor participation.

Turnover declined to LKR345 mn with trading in John Keells Holdings and Tokyo Cement accounting for 31% of the day’s total. Losers modestly outpaced gainers with Mercantile Shipping, Tangerine Beach and Bimputh Finance falling by 15.2%, 15.1% and 13.0% offsetting gains in SMB Leasing(X), Abans Finance and Agalawatte Plantations which rose by 33.3%, 20.5% and 19.4% respectively.

Meanwhile, global markets climbed today after data showed the US economy grew more than expected in the third quarter while traders remain upbeat a deal will be made on averting the fiscal cliff.
