can some body explain more about day trading.
Is there any special procedure when buying?
Please explain the differences

i.e. Both Buying and Selling process of a share is happening with in the day.

There are no special proceders.

Only thing is you have to be with CSE whole day by monitoring the share you bought for a successful day trade OR you should be an intelligent.

As per CSE sources 65% of day traders are lossers.

I buy hoping share will go up within the day

If it goes up I sell else keep it till price goes up ..... The key is holding power is it

*trade liquid shares(you can get off anytime with less damage,if things go wrong)
*don't be caught in emotional mind traps(hope,fear,greed)
*study the trading patterns
*study the fundamentals of trading stock(you can keep it,if thing go wrong)
*do your homework(analysis)
*don't follow the crowd aggressively,specially stocks with less fundamentals(THEN YOU MAY BUY AT PEAK IN RALLY)...
ETC.........

Best performed shares today were LION, BREW, CFLB, CARS, EBCR. Prediction in the morning is not very easy.

Yes...

Any one can do the day trading or minute trading or any trading....

If you have less holding power... better option is no trading.... it very safe..

*this may be the reason for LION and CARS....

*BREW,EBCR are not liquid,so it's not good to do day trading using illiquid shares.....

*CFLB,LCEY start their run,after long downturn.....

Brokerage is free for one transaction (buying / selling) whichever smaller.

Viz;
Buy 1000 & selling 1000, only one side (buying or selling is taxed.

Buy 1000 shares & sell 800, taxes for 800 selling is exempted. But for buying 1000 you will be taxed.

Buy 800 & sell 1000 (including previous buying) only buying is tax exempted.

High risk but there are some who swear by this these are the investors who I think sell even if they earn Rs.100 as profit so they buy sell aggressively per day selling at the lowest possible profit margin to mitigate their risk ....

In medicine there are specialties like, surgery, paediatrics, neurology etc. Like that in trading we have to specialized in one area to be successful. you are asking how to be a cardiologist even before going to school.

But what I wanted to know is if I buy today and sell today is it called day trading and the brokerage cost is less
I am not into day trading :evil: :evil: yet some time I may sell the things same day..

If you are amateur then then day drading is not for you..Frist start with IPO's .

Above example is for RICH , change it as you wish.

Hmmm..How come I didn't know that there was a formula in Colombo Stock Exchange. Which I figured out after reading this thread. That is:

If you are new = You should start with IPO/Primary Market

If you have been in the market a bit longer = You should start with IPO/Primary Market + Buy from the Secondary Market

If you grown old with the market = You should start with IPO/Primary Market + Buy from the Secondary Market + Day Trading.
