We talked abt this share once.. Too much public holding (even other share holders are at 72%) and 18 Mil shares are on free float.

They can do well but time will tell that.. for now we have to observer if anyone's looking for an investment.

they have given dividend of 10, but yearly EPS is 9.94. How can this be possible? Question Question Question Question

First you have to check their share holding structure. This bank hold by small Sanasa societies located in Island wide.Since they have to formalize their share holding structure they have created trust companies and amalgamate district wise shares. All these shares have given @ 100/=.

Finally Sanasa announced its 2013 dividend: 7 rupees , 30% less than in 2012 in spite of EPS contracting 12% only to 11.49 rupees.
The market however was previously so depressed and disheartened by the lack of dividend announcements that welcomed this 30% cut with a 10% increase in share price.
Actually even at 80 rupees the share looks like a bargain: low 7 P/E  , 40% discount to book value , 8.75% dividend yield higher of many 1 year fixed deposit rates currently offered.

Please explain why?

Btw, it never went to Rs  70 in recent past. It was at Rs 74.   One of the best banking shares fundamentally .

What is this forum coming to. CLPL warrant with zero value promoted while shares that just declared a 10% dividend demoted.

Thank GMNet and SStar and value prick and all other . Waht a wondefully balance forum now.

there is something suspicious and fishy about this bank.I don't feel investing. Look at the high interest rates for fix deposits. compare sampath and Sanasa (S vs S).

Rs 7/= dividend seems more like a bait. or carrot. well appealing and generous. But why it is not moving????? anyway.... I have no money to lose.
Look at the history of this share last 2 years.....!

They have been paying Rs 5 last few years ..... Very Happy so its not adhoc payouts. This year I think the declaration was ahead of usual period.

Well I don't know much about the ulterior motive.

Wait for the 2nd wave ...

Pethi i am looking at figures on the table.

SDB declared Div 7 and you can buy @ 77 now.
has not gone up after yesterday announcement, its a mere 3rs.

usually this is about return 9% on CMP.
I do understand XD date this will come down.
If you look at the PA this will not come below 75 this is jus a calculation.
You are free to disagree.
