Sorry . This is not related to Investing.
I bring it here due to the amusing part of the story.

Open warrant issued against LTTE ‘pitch invader’

Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya today issued an open warrant to arrest Logeshwaran Manimaran who invaded the pitch at Cardiff Grounds in the United Kingdom (UK) carrying a ‘Tiger’ flag during the semifinals match on June 20, played between Sri Lanka and India in the ICC Champions trophy tournament.

Isn't this funny ? Can you do that here for carrying a flag in London ?

]Now, Read the rest of the story:

The Magistrate issued an open warrant to arrest the suspect Logeswaran Manimaran alias Mohamed Raji, a British Citizen residing in the UK, for allegedly withdrawing cash from 10 ATMs (Automated Teller Machines) of several private banks in Sri Lanka by using fake credit cards.

He was alleged to have withdrawn money to the tune of nearly Rs. 3 million from the Hatton National Bank and the Commercial Bank !

The suspect was identified as the person who carried the ‘Tiger’ flag during the cricket match (in London) , after comparing the visuals recorded in the CCTV cameras fixed in the ATM cubicles. (in Colombo !)

After identifying the suspect the CID had questioned two other suspects, Ananda Ruban Kaladeepam and Balasubramanium Udyanan already in detained by the CID (in Colombo) regarding the crime, who verified his identity.

They had told CID that Logeswaran Manimaran, the person who carried the ‘Tiger’ flag during the cricket match in Cardiff had come to Sri Lanka recently and executed the fraud.

They should track him down through Interpol and ask the UK to deport him and try him in Lanka for fraud.

Or use the same method used to bring KP down here.
(To send a very clear message to those LTTE criminals that they can run and hide but we will hunt them down).

Tell the brits to give this jolly good chap citizenship. When the diasspora asks for 50-50 representation in the UK parliament, these credit card thieves can be nominated as the peeples representatives.

The warrants was issued on ATM fraud.

The story was twisted, magistrate issued the warrant on not for invading the pitch, but on ATM fraud. the person happened to be the same and they identified him after seeing in the video camera.

many instances, many people have invaded the pitch while sri lankan teas was playing. None of instances sri lankan magistrate had issued a warrant.

This is a very inteligent move by the Sri Lankan authorities. Most of the active Tamil diasspora members are having criminal records in Sri Lanka.

Most of the LTTE cadres are up to criminal activities in USA, Canada and UK and many other parts of the world as well...but they continue to hide under the human rights banner and seek shelter in those countries. They should be immediately deported to stand for crimes committed here and elsewhere and sent to jail.

Many people from Afgan, Middleast, Africa and of course…….. Sri Lanka with no educational qualification or work experince have been granted permanent residency in the UK under human right loop holes..

But sadly UK is sending the highly skilled migrants back home.

So if any of you know is planning to go to UK for studies should rethink their decisions (if they have any intention to settle over there). Once they finish their studies they have to go back (most cases).

It’s pretty difficult for a new comer to settle in the UK at the mo unless they can find an eligible partner.

Same thing applied to JVP and anti govt supporters who claimed Refugee status in those countries plus in Italy.

The white man does not like to do menial jobs (i.e. garbage collection, sewage work, etc), so they need these fools to fill those positions. As for the highly skilled workers, they somehow find a way to retain the smartest of them all and send back the others who would otherwise create competition for jobs that the locals could do. This is what is done by most European countries and the US through their university/work permit system. They skim the best of the best and reject the rest !!!!

Yes Redbulls that’s true.

Nowadays “Anti government” is a popular theme among Sri Lankans (mostly Sinhalese) who are looking for settlement in the UK under human rights.
Some part time journalists are also granted visa under this theme.

Not only visa for the whole family, they are offered many other benefits.

The UK's economy is so much dependent on unwanted crooks, thieves, terrorists, robbers, etc from 3rd world countries. Just see any crook or some big thief in a 3rd world country....where do they go and hide ??? in the UK .....in the name of human rights. lol. giving protection to third world criminals and robbers is a big business for brits. it will benefit their economy in many ways including many money launderers will spend their millions in luxuy lifestyle in the UK and poor criminals work as jobs like toilet cleaners the white man doenst like to do...... pirat

If you haven't done so already, read the book called Treasure Islands and you will realise where the biggest tax haven in the world is located !!!!!!!!!!! Not in the Cayman Islands, not Guernsey, not the Isle of Man, not Singapore, not Seychelles, it is the City of London Corporation !!!!!!!!!!!! and these same fellows are trying to teach us about 'good governance,' 'ethics' and the rest of the jargon

Yes! You should not go to UK for higher studies if you have any idea about settling somewhere outside Sri Lanka! Even quality wise I have found it is not so great mainly when you consider the practical point of view subjects like engineering.

PS:- Although if you are Tamil there is a huge community out there and you can easily find some good part time to or blue collar jobs over there!

Where to go is a good question?

When considered the quality of life, the following are also considered highly for livelihood of ppl;
safety, economy, life satisfaction, employment, crime rate, health, life expectancy and work life balance.

Problem with UK is, it takes more than 7 years to even obtain a PR. And we should think whether the life is better than other parts of the world to spend so long to get that..

And Australia has also been marked for the best place to live.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/may/28/australia-best-place-live-work

Now with IELTS 6.0 even u can obtain PR in Aus. That means in 2-4 years u can become a citizen..

dont go by these ratings. they are biased and does not take into consideration the effects of social and other forms of discrimination if you are an immigrant - which is very important factor for us.

many top countries in the list have lot of cow population too! scratch

Ok so which rating we can go with?

Seems to be you try to say "What we say is right, what we think is right and what we execute is right, but what others opinions or criticism are wrong." (Like MR chithantha )

No. what i said was these ratings are mostly based on physical resources and facilities they have as a country and other measures like crime rate, etc. also it does not indicate how livable a country is if you are a immigrant. for example if a sri lankan immigrate to UK thinking that the person can enjoy a bette life, it is not. as an imigrant sri lankan will be a second class citizen and be subjected to many discrimination. also if you are an immigrant you face higher risk of crimes too.

Many Sri Lankans (mainly student visa holders) in London are simply wasting their future. Everyday they are expecting a better future tomorrow but it never (mostly) comes. Most of them just do odd jobs and keep extending their student visas.

I recently met a Sri Lankan couple in London and was shocked to hear their story. The bloke was an account in a topnotch company in Sri Lanka and now doing an odd job in a chicken shop. He has been working in that chicken shop over a year. They said that it’s an embarrassment to go back to Sri Lanka this early.
Looks like his wife’s side urged him to go London for a better life n now they are paying the price. His wife works in a coffee shop.

UK immigration policies have been changed big time. So if you are planning go there to settle after studies, then you will need to think twice.
