It's stock broker's duty to guide us and recommend to buy/ sell at right time. But, in Sri Lanka?
Just see some of my stock broker's recommendations;
PCH at 7.50
LDEV at 16
TWOD at 18
HVA at 19
GREG at 17
DPL at 19
CSF at 13
One of my friend in India has been investing 70% of his savings in stock market, he never bother to analyze anything, and just follows his broker's instruction and prospering year by year.

I havent work with many brokers, but honestly I'm not happy with my current broker... dont know why I pay their brokerage fee. Very Happy

But I dont surprise, bcz SL is far behind from OTC financial instrument.

Those recommendations were during 2011-2013 by capital trust. During my 3 years association with them, their only good recommendations were RICH,GLAS, COMB, HNB & SAMP, but those were also not at right time

There was sometime an article about an issue of unauthorized sale of shares. which was readjusted by the broker company and admitted it was a mistake.

In reality Brokers are living out of commissions.
So the majorities ultimate objective is getting highest commission opposed to highest Yield to the share holder.
With the financial distress they are in broker might resort to some unethicla dealings as well.

Will cause a considerable harm to the broker.

I think they should change it to some other.
