Probably the best listed self sufficient hotel at CSE.
Hunnasfalls may not have 300, 400 bedrooms under its belt but what matter the most for small investors in the price you pay for a share and whether you can make money out of your investment
I think I don’t need to explain how beautiful this location really is in detail. Situate about 25Km from the heart of Kandy, Hunnasfalls boast one of the scenic hotels in Sri Lanka. View from the hotel is truly amazing. Lake, waterfalls, forest, mountains, cool climate, you name it they have it all.
Only a couple of months earlier they successfully upgraded the entire hotel which includes all 31 rooms, restaurant, Lobby and the garden. So as investors we don’t need to worry about any major refurbishments costs/shutdowns in near future. Hotel looks brand new at the moment. The best part is, they did all these work from the profits generated from the company, not from any loans like many other hotels.
HUNA is a very illiquid share with a tiny market cap. Current Market cap is mere Rs 275m. So unlike huge illiquid companies, prices of HUNA can go up quickly. 900k shares with the public and only 650k shares with the investors other than top 20. Top 20 list is virtually a non-mover. They try to collect whenever possible rather selling.
Numbers.
HUNA is now trading at nearly 3 year low prices. But company has moved a lot since then. This was trading well over Rs 90.00 those days.
ZERO borrowings. Hence no financial costs. Plus money in the bank
Risk of any right issue/warrants = Almost ZERO chance. I would give entire my PF to charity if it happens soon
Net Asset Value is higher than the current market value.
Share price was overly beaten and needs correction.
One director keeps buying shares from the market.
Only 650,000 shares with small investors (out of top 20 long term shareholders).
At a glance some experts can argue that profits decreased significantly in last quarter. That is because of between May and June HUNA was not fully functional due to renovation work.
To be honest I was expecting a loss. But they still made a profit. That’s what a top directors board can do. That’s impressive and we can expect better return for your money in coming quarters.
Any Cons? Hardly any.
