I have invested in

MADU @ 13
ELPL, @ 19
BALA: 31.50
HAPU: 35

If your investing buy with caution as the plantation sector as already gone up and going through a slight correction and like ADP mentioned in the post on 29.08.2014 (by ADP on Fri Aug 29, 2014 5:09 am) there is a lot of risk involved when investing in this sector....

When compare with last year and first half of this year why do we see demand for all types of stocks? Because due to positive market situation. Even there is a demand for extended P/E stocks in the sectors such as Hotel and tech related sectors now. As long as market stays strong there will be more demand for stocks. Companies can make profits. Still their stock prices can go down if we don’t see strong market. We saw and are seeing gradual accumulation in many sectors such as banking and finance, hotels, plantations, Diversify, production, food and beverages, motor and construction etc. What does that means?

After banking and finance other sectors will have their uptrend in a major uptrend. As market has load of value stocks, value investors have lot of opportunities to pick value stocks after doing home work. Currently plantation sector is number one undervalued sector in the CSE trading below the P/E ratio of 7 and many stocks are trading below the net asset per share and great discount to the market. Finally every sector had risk and returns. We should have some ideas about them. Even banking sector is very risky in some countries. Thanks to government bailouts some global banks and insurance giants are doing their business today without going to bankruptcy. In case of Asia lot of banks are strong and less vulnerable to any financial crisis. Beauty of consumer staples/food and beverages is people cannot postpone eating and drinking in good and bad times. Always there will be demand for food and beverages globally specially from Asian and pacific region due to increased populations there. Even global companies such as Starbucks, MacDonald and Unilever are expanding their food and beverages business globally as they see great opportunities in the coming decade. Good luck!
