To the week ending 03/10/2014 the ASPI gained 172.89 and the S&P SL20 gained 151.90 points.
To the week ending 10/10/2014 the ASPI lost 85.60 and the S&P SL20 lost 50.29 points.
Could you consider this a market correction or is it a sign that the ASPI is going to settle in the 7300 range for sometime until the elections are concluded?

Election is a just a speculation. More than Election Pope Francis Will Travel to Sri Lanka in January 2015. Most probably election may have in January 2016.

Election goodies need not necessarily come with the budget. Like the gas prices being reduced, they can even come one by one outside the budget.

I feel esl might have done well last quater than cfvf n csec. Waiting quater results. Not much selling on friday.ended in green.

After such a strong run (See graph), some fatigue / profit-taking was bound to set in.
Better-than-expected September results might provide the next impetus.
