GRAN selling is around Rs50 area is almost drying up. Yesterday more than 15,000/ buyer was at Rs50.0 level at the time of the closing. Coz if any body wants to sell he or she would have match Rs50.0 yesterday.

This will up for a run atleast Rs5.0 or more in coming days. BFL went Rs124 levels from Rs115  and TAFL went to Rs68 levels from Rs60 levels withing few days period.

This group should become one of the bullish groups in the market in the remaining stages of current bull market due to their strong outlook. However momentum wise and personality wise this time there will be gap among poultry related stocks. I think investors are waiting for further confirmation from BFL. Once they release next attractive quarterly earnings their prices will go up further. GRAN has its own personality. Recently it had big breakout. TAFL is completely different from both BFL and GRAN this time. TAFL already broke its 52 high again and again. It is still very attractive on valuation and growth.

Each company has their market share locally. They have their own loyal customers. In addition, they have customers internationally as well. Which company will have more opportunity in the future? Which company will make use of opportunities wisely?  Which company will increase share holder value in the future? All of above have ability to do that. Which one will create more shareholder value? I like to go behind company which can make more shareholder value in the future. Finally beauty of poultry stocks is they have more value and growth.

It is time to go behind Investors are getting in stocks.

Good luck!

VP,
All wheat flour millers and imports are going to see a drop in prices. This is due to the Indian MAGGI fiasco.

The millers will dump the wheat to the closest ports since the logistics are a crucial factor and the expiry time for wheat is less due to the packaging.

now, how the demand and supply between the Middle east and Asia will behave is difficult to fathom.

need study and inquiry!

You are thinking out of the box. Yes. I am studying grain market these days.  Still Indian grain prices are higher than global prices. As a result of this their export such as soya bean, maize and wheat are plummeting there. Some of their main buyers have found attractive grain suppliers from other regions. This situation also will benefit some grain elevators. This is going to be good period for grain elevators. We saw some volatility in both stocks and commodities in this month. Indian exporters are also losing their competitiveness due to high logistics costs and ground level transaction costs.

Between 2005-06 and 2012-13, India’s maize exports soared over ten-fold. That was a good time. The landed price of Indian maize at ports in Indonesia, Vietnam or Malaysia was US$300 or Rs 16,300 per tonne then. But since last year, the tide has turned as global maize prices have crashed along with other commodities. At current landed cost is US$195-200 per tonne in south-East Asia. The drying up of exports has, in turn, impacted crop prices. What will happen to gold and grain when USD becomes strong in 2016 and 2017/18? There could be further sell off in gold and grains.

According to FAO Aggregate rice production in 2015 forecast to recover from last year’s drought-reduced levelFAO forecasts the 2015 aggregate rice production to rebound by 21 percent to 4.1 million tonnesAccording to the Latest official estimates harvest of  2015 main season MAHA maize crop,  in mid-April is 277 336 tonnes, up 29 percent from the 2014 same season level. FAO forecasts the 2015 aggregate maize production at 300 000 tonnes, 15 percent above the 2014 bumper output. Rice imports in the 2015 marketing year are forecast at 150 000 tonnes, a considerable 75 percent decrease from last year’s high level. Sri-Lankan Grain Inventory is also increasing. It will increase further after YALA season thanks to good weather.

Agriculture and hydro power sector should benefit lot due to good weather in Sri-Lanka. Those tea companies having hydro power projects will benefit lot. Their energy cost will come down. Sri-Lanka tea output should stay around last year level or little bit up. On the other hand Kenyan and Indian tea output could come down in 2015/16 due to weather issues.

Don't under estimate GRAN & TAFL. These two will deliver best ever quarterly results for June 2015.

These two still trading at attractive price levels and release of June results will take GRAN towards Rs70 levels and TAFL towards Rs85 - Rs90 levels.

Do not miss this golden opportunity.

As a top animal feed producer in Sri-Lanka, GRAN should benefit lot due to lower prices in maize, soya bean and other raw materials including oil and gas when compare with corresponding last year. In addition, YALA harvest is about to begin and we should see higher harvest thanks to good weather in Sri-Lanka.

Dear Peacockman

I hope your stocks are doing well now. I was following your stocks as well as you were one of the bullish persons in this market.

Currently for some reasons TAFL has more momentum than BFL and GRAN.  It had consistent performance even during difficult period. It was able to maintain quarterly EPS of over 2 and yearly EPS over 7 during last two financial years? In addition, it has the highest ROE in the group.

Future earnings should decide their individual momentum next. Which one will have more momentum in the coming months, quarters and years? It depends on the performance of each company, demand for their stocks and other local and international factors. This group is one of the undervalued bullish groups in the market and their stock prices will adjust according to their attractive earnings and according to the stages of bull market in the coming months and quarters.

What we should see in stocks (companies)

Future attractive earnings
Momentum
Strong uptrend
Higher ROE
Great value now and in the future
Strong outlook
Strong management

If we see all of above in a company that we follow then we should grab their shares from our both hand.

After doing some home work try to buy stocks that you know very well and business that you can understand. This bull market has more legs.

Good luck!

Grain Elevators could grow revenue by 10.4 pct: SC Securities

July 29, 2015 (LBO) – Ceylon Grain Elevators PLC (GRAN.N), Sri Lanka’s largest operator in the poultry industry, could grow revenue by 10.4 percent and net profit by 12.2 percent annually in the next four years, according to a research report by SC Securities.
This would give the share a 12-month price target of 70 rupees. The company was trading at 65 rupees, up 4.5 percent, on Wednesday.
According to SC Securities, rising consumer demand due to revised public sector salaries and higher per capita income should drive the top line. The surge in tourist arrivals may also contribute to stronger consumer demand for its products.
“We expect the price ceiling imposed on a Kg of chicken to be lifted in the forth coming period, with this the large scale broiler farms would ramp up the production triggering more demand for feed and DOC,” they said.
Ceylon Grain Elevators and its subsidiaries manufacture feeds under the Prima and Farmer’s Choice brands. They operate poultry breeder farms and engage in processing, packaging and retailing of poultry and other meat products.
One of its subsidiaries is Three Acre Farms PLC (TAFL.N).
Among the downside factors, the stockbroking firm noted that a depreciation of the rupee increases costs as more than 50 percent of raw materials are imported.
The re-banning of food maize importation could also drive maize prices up, while outbreaks of disease could affect its stock of day old chicks.
SC Securities currently has a ‘buy’ recommendation for the stock.
